Our Teen Health Educator program is our award-winning flagship program. We train high school students on a variety of youth health topics so that they can be peer educators and mentors in their communities.
We cover a range of health topics including mental health, trauma, sexual health, relationships and teen dating violence, vaping, alcohol, marijuana, anger management, nutrition, physical health, social media safety, bullying, and more! We intentionally prioritize different topics depending on what issues our youth are facing and what they tell us they want to learn about.
Teen Health Educators work in small teams, supervised by an adult leader, to provide peer education and mentoring at our community partner sites, with a special focus on helping vulnerable youth. The program is a great way to improve your confidence and develop skills in public speaking, collaboration, and empathy, all while getting community service hours!
We host two trainings each year for our Teen Health Educator applicants; one at the beginning of each semester in January and August. Our next training will be in January 2026, details to come!
Once we receive your application, we’ll invite you to complete an interview with a Healthy Teens staff member and a few current Teen Health Educators. This will be a chance for us to get to know each other, and to make sure the program is a good fit for you!
Don’t forget to ask a trusted adult or close friend to provide a reference for you! Share the link below with them and ask them to fill it in asap.
