The 13th annual Shamrock Shiver Charity Plunge at Bradenton Beach was held on Friday. The event is put on by Clancy’s Irish Sports Pub and Grill aiming to give back to the community. Every year they choose charities to help through generous donations made through the event. “Can’t think of a better way to ring in a new year. And to keep the money local and to help organizations like these that make a difference in people’s lives. I think it’s important to remember the holidays aren’t always a happy time for people and this is just giving money to people that are focused year round on helping people that are less fortunate,” said Clancy’s Pub Charity spokesperson, Krissy Bilbrey.
She says the goal is to meet the $25,000 they raised last year or surpass it. Organizers say they’ve raise $270,000 since they began holding the charity event.
